The Mayor’s Newham Show
Almost 50,000 people flocked to the Mayor’s Newham Show in Central Park on 14 and 15 July and were treated to an array of entertainment and inspirational ideas to help change their lives.
One of the main attractions was the LIVE LIFE Big Top, which saw the launch of Newham Council’s biggest campaign to encourage people to take part in activities and get involved, whether it be a sports club, starting a course, becoming a volunteer, embarking on a new career or simply just discovering the local park. Hundreds of people pledged to do something to change their way of life.
Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales said: “This has been another brilliant Town Show, full of fun and facts about how people who live here can make the most of the opportunities on offer.”
Show goers enjoyed a wide variety of music and dance performed on two specially dedicated stages; fashion shows from budding designers as well as sports and activities, including football and fencing. Former Olympic javelin gold medallist Tessa Sanderson paid a visit too.
